Homemade Christmas Party Invitations
Invitations that you can make for the holiday season. If it is a party that you are having or a simple dinner with close family you may find an invitation idea that you can use to create yourself in our growing gallery.
Gather some simple green or red colored embellishments like ribbon, buttons or stickers to trim your Xmas invites. Charms will also add an elegant touch.
Christmas Invitation Ideas

Party hat invitations - A cheap and easy idea for making your invitations is to buy a bunch of green and red party hats. The ones that unfold into the shape of a crown. Simply write your party details directly on to the hat, pop it into an envelope and you're set.

Cut your invites in a geometric shape like a tree, christmas decoration, star or similar. Other shapes can include Santa Clause, an Xmas stocking.

Make a batch of Christmas cookies. Print your invitation information onto a piece of card or paper and cut around it in the same shape as your cookie. Place the cookie on top of your invitation and wrap them both in clear cellophane. Tie it up with ribbon or tape.

Make some simple stockings from felt material and slip and invitation inside the stocking. Hand them out to your guests.

Christmas Party Invitations
I wanted to share some of the invitations I made for our holiday party this
year. I kept them super simple. The inside has a piece of cardstock with the
information about the party printed on to it, and I used clear photo corners
to attach it.

Tutorial to make these Christmas Invitations
You can make these simple invitations yourself. The charms and Scrapbooking paper you can purchase from any scrapbook store or even your local dollar shop or department store. The charms may be called card making charms or embellishments. You can recycle charms from use wine glass tokens.
Materials to make 12 cards

12 x A5 Cardstock

1 Sheet of red patterned Christmas scrapbook paper

3 x Green A4 cardstock or paper

Computer and Printer
-
12 Charms ( You can use stickers or buttons if you can't find metal charms)

Bone folder for nice crisp folds (use a thumbnail or

Paper trimmer, craft knife or scissors, adhesive glue stick and double sided tape.
Method

Take an A5 card and score a fold down the middle lengthwise. Fold the card in half and run your bone folder along the fold to create crisp fold.

Take the patterned paper and cut twelve 2" x 5 7/8" strips. Fold each strip in half lengthwise. Adhere a strip to the card with one half of the strip on the front and the other on the back of the card.

On your computer, open up a word document or similar and Type
{You're Invited}
12 (or more) times. This text should be bound inside a box of approximately ¾" x 5 7/8". Print them out, cut and adhere to the front of the card about 1" down from the top. -
Adhere the charm to the front of the card as per the images above. If you are using metallic charms with a flat back I like to use double sided tape (some times I layer the tape 3 or 4 times) or my favorite adhesive for metal embellishments 'glossy accents'

Print your wording for the inside of the card onto the green A4 cardstock. It should measure approx 4"x2½" in size. Adhere it to the inside of your card.
